This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines the rules and guidelines for using mychar.gg ("mychar", "we", "us", or "our"), operated by mychar, a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) registered in the Netherlands (KVK: 93940254), located in Breda, The Netherlands. This AUP is part of and incorporated into our Terms of Service.

By using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent termination.

1. General Principles

mychar.gg is a platform for gamers and creators to showcase their online identity. We are committed to maintaining a welcoming, safe, and respectful environment for all users. While we embrace gaming culture and self-expression, there are boundaries that must be respected.

2. Prohibited Content

You may not upload, display, or link to content that:

2.1 Harmful or Dangerous Content

  • Promotes or glorifies violence, self-harm, or suicide
  • Contains threats of violence or physical harm against any individual or group
  • Encourages or facilitates dangerous activities that could result in physical harm
  • Contains instructions for weapons, explosives, or other instruments of harm

2.2 Hateful Content

  • Promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic
  • Contains slurs, dehumanizing language, or stereotypes targeting protected groups
  • Promotes or affiliates with hate groups or extremist organizations

2.3 Illegal Content

  • Violates any applicable local, national, or international law
  • Promotes illegal drug use, trafficking, or the sale of controlled substances
  • Facilitates or promotes fraud, scams, phishing, or other deceptive practices
  • Contains or distributes stolen data, hacked credentials, or personal information of others without consent (doxxing)
  • Promotes or facilitates the circumvention of digital rights management (DRM) or software piracy

2.4 Sexually Explicit Content

  • Contains pornographic or sexually explicit material
  • Contains sexual content involving minors in any form (zero tolerance)
  • Sexualizes minors in any way, including through fictional depictions

2.5 Intellectual Property Violations

  • Infringes on copyrights, trademarks, patents, or other intellectual property rights
  • Uses someone else's likeness, brand, or identity without authorization
  • Contains pirated content, cracked software, or unauthorized game modifications that violate the original creator's terms
  • Uploads copyrighted audio (music, sound effects, or other audio recordings) without the rights holder's permission or a valid license

2.6 Deceptive or Misleading Content

  • Impersonates any person, brand, organization, or entity
  • Contains false or misleading information intended to deceive others
  • Uses fake or manipulated engagement metrics
  • Misrepresents your identity, qualifications, or affiliations

2.7 Spam and Malicious Content

  • Contains malware, viruses, trojans, ransomware, or other malicious code
  • Links to phishing sites or scam operations
  • Promotes or distributes spam, unsolicited advertisements, or pyramid schemes
  • Contains deceptive redirect links or URL shorteners designed to obscure malicious destinations

3. Prohibited Behavior

You may not engage in the following behavior on or through the Service:

3.1 Abuse and Harassment

  • Harassing, bullying, intimidating, or stalking other users
  • Engaging in coordinated attacks or brigading against other users or communities
  • Repeatedly contacting someone who has asked you to stop
  • Encouraging others to harass or target specific individuals

3.2 Platform Abuse

  • Creating multiple accounts to evade bans or restrictions
  • Using automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service without authorization
  • Attempting to exploit bugs, vulnerabilities, or glitches in the Service
  • Interfering with or disrupting the Service for other users
  • Manipulating statistics, view counts, or other metrics
  • Scraping or harvesting user data from the platform

3.3 Commercial Misuse

  • Using the Service primarily for unauthorized commercial purposes (such as creating profiles solely to advertise products or services unrelated to your identity)
  • Reselling access to the Service or its features
  • Using the Service to collect user information for unsolicited marketing

3.4 Skins and Theme Presets

  • Shared skins must not contain offensive, hateful, or discriminatory names or themes
  • Skins must comply with all content rules in this AUP, including prohibitions on hateful, illegal, and sexually explicit content
  • Creating skins designed to deceive, impersonate, or mislead other users is prohibited

4. Gaming-Specific Guidelines

As a gaming-focused platform, we have additional guidelines relevant to gaming culture:

4.1 Gaming Content

  • Game clips and highlights are welcome and encouraged
  • Game modifications and custom content are permitted as long as they do not violate the original game's terms of service or intellectual property
  • Server information for gaming communities is permitted for legitimate community management

4.2 Cheating and Exploits

  • Profiles that primarily promote, sell, or distribute game cheats, hacks, or exploits are not permitted
  • Linking to or advertising cheat software, boosting services, or account selling is prohibited

5. Username and Display Name Rules

Your username and display name must not:

  • Contain offensive, hateful, or discriminatory language
  • Impersonate other users, public figures, brands, or organizations
  • Contain contact information intended to circumvent the platform (phone numbers, email addresses)
  • Be intentionally misleading or deceptive
  • Contain terms reserved for platform use (e.g., "admin", "mychar", "official", "staff")

6. Reporting Violations

If you encounter content or behavior that violates this AUP, please report it to us at support@mychar.gg. When reporting, please include:

  • The URL of the profile or content in question
  • A description of the violation
  • Any relevant screenshots or evidence

You can also report content directly from the platform using the in-app reporting system. When reporting in-app, you can select from the following categories: inappropriate content, impersonation, spam, harassment, or other. You may include a description to provide additional context.

We take all reports seriously and will review them promptly.

7. Enforcement

7.1 Actions We May Take

Depending on the severity and nature of the violation, we may:

  • Issue a warning
  • Remove the offending content
  • Temporarily suspend your account
  • Permanently terminate your account
  • Report the activity to law enforcement where required or appropriate

7.2 Repeat Violations

Repeated violations will result in escalating enforcement actions. Users who demonstrate a pattern of violations will face permanent account termination.

7.3 Appeals

If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal by contacting us at support@mychar.gg within 14 days of the action. If your account has been blocked, you can also submit an appeal directly through the platform. When you log in, you will see the block reason and an option to submit an appeal, which will be reviewed by an administrator. We will review your appeal and respond within a reasonable timeframe.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time to address new types of abuse or reflect changes to the Service. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated AUP.
