Common Issues

I can't log in

• Forgot your password? Use the password reset flow to set a new one.
• Signed up with Discord? Make sure you're clicking "Sign in with Discord" on the login page, not entering email/password.
• Email not verified? Check your inbox (and spam folder) for the verification email sent when you signed up.

Discord won't connect

• "Already connected" error: Your Discord account may already be linked to a different mychar.gg account. Disconnect it from the other account first.
• Authorization failed: Try disconnecting and reconnecting Discord from Settings. Make sure you approve the requested permissions when Discord asks.

My upload is failing

• File too large: Check the file size limits. Avatars max at 5 MB, backgrounds at 50 MB, audio at 10 MB, clips at 50 MB.
• Wrong format: Make sure your file is in an accepted format for that upload type.
• Hit your limit: You may have reached your plan's upload limit for that file type. Check your usage or upgrade your plan.

My changes aren't saving

• Make sure you're clicking the Save button in the builder. The builder tracks unsaved changes and shows a save button when changes are pending.
• If the save button isn't appearing, try refreshing the page and making your changes again.

My page shows old content

• Clear your browser cache or try opening your page in an incognito/private window. Browsers may cache your page for a short time.

Audio isn't playing

• Some browsers block audio autoplay by default. Visitors may need to click the play button manually.
• Make sure the audio player is visible (not hidden in your builder settings).
• Check that your audio file uploaded correctly. Try playing it from the builder.

I can't claim an achievement

• Discord achievements: Make sure your Discord account is connected and you meet the requirements (member of the server, actively boosting, etc.).
• Donation achievements: Ensure your payment method is valid. If the payment fails, the achievement won't be granted.

Is mychar.gg free?

Yes. mychar.gg has a free plan that includes 3 custom links, 2 avatars, 1 background, 1 audio track, basic customization, and 7-day statistics. You can upgrade to Pro or Elite for more features.

Can I change my username?

Yes, you can change your username at any time from Account Settings. Keep in mind that changing your username also changes your profile URL.

What platforms are supported for links?

mychar.gg supports dozens of predefined platforms including Discord, Twitch, YouTube, Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, Steam, Epic Games, Xbox, PlayStation, and many more. You can also create custom links to any URL.

How do I report someone's page?

When viewing a profile, click the Report button. Choose a reason (inappropriate content, impersonation, spam, harassment, or other) and optionally add a description. Our team will review the report.

How do I appeal a block on my page?

If your page has been blocked, you'll see the reason on your dashboard. You can submit an appeal explaining why you believe the block should be lifted. Our team will review appeals and respond.

What happens if I downgrade my plan?

When you downgrade, a 7-day grace period begins. During this time, your files above the new plan's limits are preserved. After the grace period, files exceeding your new limits may be removed. See Usage & File Limits for details.

Can I use mychar.gg on mobile?

Yes. Your profile page is fully responsive and looks great on mobile devices. The dashboard and builder are also accessible on mobile, though the builder is optimized for desktop screens.
